My Heart Smiled

Oh how this made my heart smile… this morning while having breakfast with my daughters and reading about Eve in the garden , my oldest daughter who is about to turn 5 next week said such wise words that it completely took me by surprise. I was explaining to her how her and I are sinners and sometimes we don’t always listen to what God is telling us to do. But if we read God’s word and apply his commandments to our life then things will work out for His and our good. She simply said I understand mama we need Jesus to do right and if Jesus would’ve never came, the bad snake would be able to control us and we wouldn’t go to heaven. It simply melted my heart to know that the seeds I have been planting are beginning to grow. She also included that she loved Jesus with all her heart. I was also then able to share with her how he can be her best friend right now. We just moved and she is having a hard time without seeing any of her old friends.  It is truly a blessing to hear all of this because I admit I have fallen short of being a gentle and patient mama to my girls. But I have been able to really reach to my HH with help on training and teaching my daughters. Erin’s series on enjoying children couldn’t have come at a better time. Thank you and I hope this encourages someone to keep sowing into our children.

  1. My sweet Elda how precious!!! Thank you for opening your heart and sharing this with us!!!
It is amazing how they understand the Lord´s truth so easily and with us as moms spending time with them changes everything!!
I know what you feel to seeing them feeling a little bit lonely that is why I highly recommend to you this book: https://homegrownministries.com/hp/ww4hp/otr/
This book helped my daughter Bethia to understand better the things she was experiencing and how her Heavenly Father loved her!!

  2. Thank you Isabella! I am planning on introducing her to the book soon! Do you happen to know if there is a hard copy or e book of it?

  3. Thank you for sharing! This melted my heart <3 I feel a lot of times God speaks thru children. I had my own experience where I am convinced that it was God who was speaking thru my older daughter, which I still remember vividly and took me by surprise. I have to keep reminding myself to pay attention – because He is speaking. Am I listening?
