Today being Easter Sunday, I missed my children as they have been away for about a week now and I was thinking of them and my Husband reminded me of a conversation I had with my daughter Mia that I wanted to share with you that was so precious.
My daughter often talks about heaven and what it would be like. She has two special friends and one of these friends gifted her and the other friend with one of those friendship necklaces. You know the ones where they look like one thing that was split into two. In this case, it was split into three for the three friends.
As Mia was looking at this necklace she asked me: "Mom, do you think when I am in heaven one day the Lord will share one with me?" and I said: "Of course, I am sure He will."
She nodded but she was deep in thought and then she said: "The thing is, His neck will probably be filled with so many of them that I am not sure if there will be any space left for mine."
I had to smile at this and silently ask Him for wisdom on what to say to that. I answered her: "Probably, yes, but I am sure when He is with you, He will only wear yours."
A smile spread across her face and she answered: "I would like that very much."
It touched my heart that my now 14-year-old girl has those kinds of thoughts. So many times I learn from them how to have beautiful thoughts about Him and although I am teaching them all about Him, they teach me much more and I want to thank my dear Husband for our wonderful children.
Gracias!
Wow, how beautiful Yvonne, it is certainly very sweet what your daughter thinks, her beautiful way of longing for the friendship of Her Best Friend and wow the wisdom that your Husband gave you to give her an answer as sweet as that. How nice that you compare it. It edifies me a lot to learn about the innocence and faith of children. Thank you!
