Deep Fried Oreos and Twinkies

Today I want to share the recipe for the fair food my HH led me to make for my daughter's entrepreneurs' day two weeks ago. I never deep-fried anything, so I really had to rely on my Heavenly Husband to help me, but in the end, the feedback was really good, and everybody said it was delicious.

Ingredients (this is how much I used for the Oreos and Twinkies)

-6 packs of Oreos (I used different flavors)
-24 Twinkies in different flavors (Twinkies in SA, 6 per pack)
-2 packs Pancake/crumpet mix
-Powdered Sugar to sprinkle over.
-Eggs, oil, and milk according to directions on Pancake/crumpet mix.
-2 liters of sunflower oil for deep frying.

Preparation:

-Prepare the pancake/crumpet mixture according to the directions on the pack, I made it slightly thinner than directions for crumpets, but not as thin as for pancakes, somewhere in between.
-Heat 1ltr of oil in a large pot. I tested it by adding a drop of the pancake batter in the oil and it bubbled up.
-Put the Oreos / tinkies in the batter and cover on both sides, I used a fork to transfer them into the oil.
-Let it fry on each side until brown
-Remove it from the oil and put it on kitchen towels to drain the oil.
-When it is slightly cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
